Tip: how to add new suppliers to your inventory in ZIMS

1) To add local suppliers to you institution- Open up the Institutions Tab

Click on Add new Institution

Fill out the information and click save

This supplier is now available to just the people in your institution and will be added to you lists for accessions etc.

ZIMS 2012 Tips and Tricks 01 - Using the start button animal lookup field

Using the start button animal lookup field
Under the start button (lower left corner), on the ZIMS 2012 desktop, is a handy feature to quickly lookup local animals in your dataset. The search field will accept Local IDs, house names and GANs of animals.

Typing in the box will activate a result list filtering. The more you type the more specific the list becomes, once you see the animal you are looking for you can click on it to jump right to the animal record.

This feature is one of the quickest ways to go to an animal's records in ZIMS 2012, so make sure you remember it.
