ISIS is a non-profit organization that provides zoological software and technical support to a global membership of zoos and aquariums – now 730 institutions in 73 countries. ISIS software is the world standard and ISIS is the largest zoological membership organization in the world. ISIS is the global database for the zoological and aquarium community, storing and disseminating the data collected by thousands of professionals who are working to conserve, breed and care for endangered animals. ISIS is developing the next generation of software which promises to revolutionize the way the zoo and aquarium profession collects and shares data globally: ZIMS (Zoological Information Management System). This is a cutting edge, visionary, complex system and there is nothing like it in the world. ISIS values a causal, collegial atmosphere and has a very diverse staff. While ISIS does not keep any actual animals, the people who work at ISIS generally share a passion to conserve the earth’s living species. More than a dozen languages are spoken inside the ISIS office. Though ISIS is a relatively small non-profit, we think and work with a global consciousness, and our staff are in relationship with a huge variety of people from around the world.
